About me
I'm an artist living a lot inside my head, in a dream world created by my fantasies. I paint the dreams as I see them, as I experienced them, as I remembered them.
In the "real world" my name is Katrin Lundstedt-Enkel. I've got a PhD in Environmental Toxicology and work 25 % of full time as a senior researcher in metabolomics mostly regarding human health. During the rest of my days I read, dream, draw and paint. I have taken numerous courses in drawing, oil painting and ceramics and have taught painting and drawing to 13-16 year olds. I have had one exhibition but refused to sell my "babies” when the visitors wanted to buy. This is the reason I have started to sell prints of the highest quality of my creations... I want people to see my dreams as if having them on paper/canvas make the dream world a little bit closer.
Kitty Blackfire is my fantasy name, chosen in a dream combining two important aspects of my life, Kitty what my diseased grandfather Norman Edward Enkel used to call me and Blackfire, the fire leaving behind black remnants of passed hurt but now life giving.
My Photography
I photograph "everything". I have extra feelings for old forests, old buildings, old... Anything that show the passing of time and development. I love huge engineering like bridges, towers, dams and smaller like cars and MCs. I often look up in the sky, and love anything with water. I'm a water person craving the sight and smell of water. The life giver.
